In this article we will see how to create charts in MS Excel. These charts are based on some values and are showing a graphical image more representative.

First of all, you should create an Excel document with all values. Something like this would be good enough for our purposes (without blue square and circle):

As you can notice we have sales results for 3 products in first 3 months of a year.

To create a new chart you have to select all this table (from A1 to D4). Then press Chart Wizard button (blue circle). This will open first window of the wizard, as below:

Here you can select the type of the chart (bars, pies, columns, and more). Also you can select charts with plain or 3D effect. Then press Next button.

You can select how all data is grouped: by rows or by columns. In this case just press Next.

You can set the chart name (Chart title). Let's say it "Sales".
Also, there are many other options here. We will use default values, but you could try them to see the results.

In this last step just press Finish. Finally we'll get something like this:

You can move or resize the chart using some cues. Also, you can change position of every item or their appearance (color). Try to double-click on an item.

You have just created a new chart. Using such charts your reports will look more professional.
